Anyone who has not yet signed up for 4-H for 2018 has just a few days left to do so.

Jay County 4-H’s open enrollment period will end Jan. 15.

Those interested in enrolling can do so at in.4honline.com or by visiting the Purdue Extension Office at 126 N. Meridian St. in Portland. In order for enrollment to be finalized, payments must also be made by Jan. 15.



Hosting

Purdue Extension has a couple of events scheduled for farmers and gardeners.

A session involving soybeen research and training for use of dicamba will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Delaware County?Fairgrounds. Those interested in attending can reserve a seat by calling (260)?726-4707.

Also, master gardener classes are being held from 1 to 4 p.m. each Thursday through April 12 in the 4-H Building at Jay County Fairgrounds.

Farm Credit Mid-America has a scholarship available for students studying agriculture or pursuing rural community related careers.

The $1,500 scholarships are available to Farm Credit customers, their children or their grandchildren. Applications are available online at e-farmcredit.com/scholarships. The deadline is Jan. 31.
