Anyone who has not yet signed up for 4-H for 2018 has just over a week left to do so.

Jay County 4-H’s open enrollment period will end Jan. 15.

Those interested in enrolling can do so at in.4honline.com or by visiting the Purdue Extension Office at 126 N. Meridian St. in Portland.

In order for enrollment to be finalized, payments must also be made by Jan. 15.



Scholarship available

Helena Acre of Bluffton announced last month that a $1,000 scholarship in the name of Jeffery Bulmahn will be awarded to a Jay County High School senior this year as part of its Homegrown Scholarship program.

The scholarship is for students who plan to pursue a degree in agriculture or science. Those interested in applying can do so at helenahomegrown.com. The deadline is Feb. 2.

Farm Credit Mid-America has launched a scholarship program for students studying agriculture or pursuing rural community related careers.

The $1,500 scholarships are available to Farm Credit customers, their children or their grandchildren.

Those interested can fill out an application at e-farmcredit.com/scholarships.

The deadline is Jan. 31.
