Quilt donations

    Since the Rev. Jill Howard began her duties as pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church on July 1, she has been doing a lot of listening, meeting challenges and setting goals.
  • Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 218 E. High St., Portland, will host a Thanksgiving Eve service at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
  • Artist, author, speaker and YouTube personality Jon Jorgenson will speak at a youth event at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bryant Wesleyan Church, 209 S. Hendricks St.
  • Hopewell of Life Ministries will have a Thanksgiving dinner following the 10 a.m. service Sunday.
  • Redkey Church of the Nazarene will celebrate 100 years of ministry with a centennial celebration at 10 a.m. Sunday.
  • Hopewell of Life Ministries will have a fried chicken meal at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by the movie “The Mark” at 7 p.m.
  • The Open Heart Quartet will perform a southern gospel music concert during the 10:30 a.m. service Oct. 30 at Noble Congregational Christian Church.
  • Jeffrey Kran from Chosen People Ministries will speak at Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene Family Center.
