Quilt donations

  • The Jay County Men of Prayer will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Holiness Church, 4017 W. 200 South in Blaine.
  • Children ages 3 and older are invited to a one-day Bible school Saturday at Collett Church of the Nazarene.
  • Church of God of Prophecy will present a gospel message through the art of illusions at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

  • The public is invited to a Fourth of July celebration on Sunday at the schoolhouse in Salamonia Park.
  • A group from a local church that made a difference in people’s lives in Kentucky hopes to bring that experience back to Portland and show God’s love to the community.
  • Two churches are hosting movie nights.
  • Father’s Day Services at Hopewell of Life Ministries will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with the ladies in charge. Lunch will follow and there will be no Sunday school.
  • Calvary United Methodist Church will have the Vacation Bible School program “Deep Sea Discovery” for children ages 4 through sixth grade.
  • Hopewell of Life Ministries will take a week off from its regular Wednesday Bible study to hear a presentation from a missionary.
  • Two area churches will host vacation Bible school during the first full week of June.
  • Friday Fun Night will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Evangelical Methodist Church, 930 W. Main St. in Portland.
