Quilt donations

  • The public is invited to a Fourth of July celebration on Sunday at the schoolhouse in Salamonia Park.

  • Father’s Day Services at Hopewell of Life Ministries will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with the ladies in charge. Lunch will follow and there will be no Sunday school.
  • Calvary United Methodist Church will have the Vacation Bible School program “Deep Sea Discovery” for children ages 4 through sixth grade.
  • Hopewell of Life Ministries will take a week off from its regular Wednesday Bible study to hear a presentation from a missionary.
  • Two area churches will host vacation Bible school during the first full week of June.
  • Friday Fun Night will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Evangelical Methodist Church, 930 W. Main St. in Portland.
  • A Portland church will host a free concert Sunday.
  • Mothers will be honored during the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene, 401 E. Boundary St.
  • Wesleyan Tabernacle (formerly the Gospel Lighthouse), in Portland will have a homecoming on Sunday in honor of the 86th anniversary of the Tabernacle revivals.
  • The Christianaires quartet will perform a concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Collett Church of the Nazarene, located at the corner of 100 West and 450 South.
  • Evangelical Methodist Church will host revival services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Pastor Herb Hummel as the evangelist.
