A straight line wind on the night of May 9 damaged nine properties in Jay County, emergency management agency director Ralph Frazee told Jay County Commissioners on Monday.

“We didn’t have anything reported through dispatch,” said Frazee. “The weather service didn’t see any of that.”

Frazee said the damage to roofs, carports, trees and outbuildings was concentrated in an area near U.S. 27 and county road 400 North.
