Construction plans
Jay County Solid Waste Management District Board discussed construction plans for its new recycling center Monday.
Jay County Commissioner Duane Monroe expressed concerns about the building’s structural integrity. After more conversation with Travis McDaniel of MSS Engineering, the board verbally agreed to use precast concrete skirt boards where the foundation meets the walls.
Jay County Solid Waste Management director George McGinnis also said he would work with engineers to adjust parking lot plans, which currently show the public entrance on the west side of the property.
McDaniel told the board — absent Jeff Westlake, Jack Robbins and Dave Golden — the project designs should be ready to go out to bid within two to three weeks.
