Churches plan Thanksgiving events
Church specials
Collett Church of the Nazarene will have a Thanksgiving supper and auction on Saturday at 6 p.m. The church is located at 450 South, one mile west of U.S. 27.
Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene, 401 E. Boundary St., will have its annual Thanksgiving Supper and Auction on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, drinks and table service will be provided. Please bring a covered dish or two.
Promise meeting
Jay County Men of Promise will meet Saturday at Bryant Wesleyan Church.
A continental breakfast will be provided at 8 a.m. by the men of the church. The guest speaker will be Paul VanCise, Pastor of the church. The “challenging moment” will be given by Cliff Moser, special music will be provided by Kinsey Fennig and preparation of heart will be led by Irwin Bailey.
To perform
Song evangelist Terry Campbell will perform twice Sunday at area churches.
His first performance will be at 10:30 a.m. at Sugar Grove Nazarene at 400 North and 550 West. He will have another performance on Sunday at 6 p.m. at Collett Church of the Nazarene, located on 450 South, one mile west of U.S. 27.
Campbell, who first sang country and rock and roll with “Dusty Blue” and “Spike and the Sputniks,” began singing gospel music in 2007, after suffering several physical setbacks.
Revival
Evangelical Methodist Church will have revival services with Pastor Andy Isch as the evangelist on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Christianaires will be the song evangelists.
A carry-in dinner will follow the Sunday morning service.

Prayer
Noble Christian Church will have prayer beginning Tuesday at 5 p.m. The church is located at county roads 800 East and 200 North.
Re-Awakening prayer
Jay County Re-Awakening prayer groups meet each Thursday at 7 p.m. This week the groups are asked to pray for Bryant Wesleyan Church, its pastor Paul VanCise and leadership board members.

Community meal
Bread of Life Community Family Meal will be served Monday, Nov. 14, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 204 E. Arch St. in Portland. Everyone is welcome to share a meal and conversation. This week’s meal is sponsored by Fellowship Baptist Church.
Prayer meeting
The Jay County Ministerial Association will present a county-wide prayer meeting on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the
Jay County High School
auditorium.
There will be prayer for area churches and for revival and spiritual awakening for the nation.

Donations
A local church related ministry is asking for donations to assist the poor and needy. Donations of laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, canned foods and potatoes can be given to Compassion Network.
