It’s time to celebrate FFA.

The Jay County and Fort Recovery FFA chapters will hold a variety of activities next week in celebration of National FFA Week.

Both FFA chapters will hold breakfasts, with Jay County’s brownie breakfast scheduled for 7 a.m. Tuesday. Fort Recovery will serve breakfast to business and community leaders, FFA alumni, teachers and FFA parents from 6 to 8 a.m. Wednesday in the school commons.

A state FFA officer will visit Jay County on Thursday, and the school will hold a tractor drive-in Friday.

Fort Recovery FFA activities open with a tractor drive-in Tuesday and greenhand initiation from 7:50 to 8:15 a.m. in the ag shop. A petting zoo for kindergarten through second grade students will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the ag shop. The week will close with a truck drive-in — awards will be given for the newest, oldest, cleanest, dirtiest, loudest and junkiest — and Ag Olympics from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23.

Jay County FFA will have activities during lunch periods throughout the week. Monday will feature Connect Four, followed by a guess how much candy is in the jar game Tuesday, bean bag toss Wednesday, milk a cow Thursday and tractor races Friday.

Both schools will also have dress-up themes throughout the week. Jay County’s are ’Merica Monday, Nerd Day Tuesday, Beach Day Wednesday, Camouflage Thursday and Dress Like a Farmer Friday.
