Several local churches are planning special services and events for the Easter season.

Events scheduled include:

•South Adams Ministerial Association’s Good Friday service at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Swiss Village Auditorium. It will feature two duets by Brian Habegger, Neil Potter, Sarah Steffen and Mary Zuercher. First Missionary Church’s Pastor Rick Schwartz will present the message.

•Portland Friends Good Friday Service at 6 p.m. Friday. The church, located at 226 E. Main St., will also host an Easter “son-rise” service at 8 a.m. Sunday followed by a breakfast. The morning service will be at 9:15 a.m.

•New Mount Pleasant Church sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday. A breakfast will follow at 8 p.m.

•Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene Easter sunrise service and breakfast at the church’s family center. Easter worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. An Easter egg hunt will also be held at 1 p.m. Saturday.

•Easter breakfast and worship service at 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., respectively, on Sunday at First Church of Christ in Fort Recovery.

•Easter breakfast at 9 a.m. followed by worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Faith Evangelical Church, 9560 W. 200 South, Dunkirk.



Free community meal

Bread of Life Community Family Meal will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 204 E. Arch St., Portland.

Everyone is welcome to share a meal and conversation.



Revival set

A revival is scheduled for April 26 through 29 at Evangelical Methodist Church.

John Myers will serve as the evangelist for the event. The Christianaires will be the song evangelists.

Sessions are scheduled for 7 p.m. April 26 and 27, and 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 28. There will be a carry-in meal after the morning service April 28.



To celebrate

St. Paul Catholic Church in Sharpsburg, Ohio, will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday with a service at 1:30 p.m. April 28.

The event will include showing “Divine Mercy 101,” which provides information about the event and the mission of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska. At 2:45 p.m., there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with the Litany of the Precious Blood and other prayers, followed by singing of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 p.m. and praying of the rosary at 3:45 p.m. The service will close with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
