’Tis the season for holiday tunes.

Jay County High School music department will host its public concert, “The Joys of Christmas,” at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Jay Patriot Concert Band, Just Treble and Patriot Edition will each be performing a variety of popular holiday songs.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and after the concert, the choirs will also have their annual cookie walk.

Museum open

The local museum is ready to celebrate the holidays.

Jay County Historical Museum’s Christmas open house is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today.

Trees and decorations put up by volunteers are spread throughout the building. There is a tree decorated by Cathy Habegger for Kate’s Kart, a non-profit dedicated to giving new books to hospitalized children. (Books, gift cards or monetary donations for Kate’s Kart can be left by the tree or mailed to Jay County High School.)

Visitors may also look for family or friends on the “Gone But Not Forgotten Tree,” which is decorated with old photos of former Jay County residents. It is located by the horseshoe case.

The museum is open for viewing decorations each Tuesday through Thursday in December from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
