Fender bender

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500 after a Portland woman drove into the back of a Randolph County woman’s vehicle on Portland’s Votaw Street at 4:18 p.m. Friday.

Kayla A. Nietfeld, 29, was eastbound in her 2011 Honda Odyssey on Votaw Street near Middle Street when she failed to notice a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo being driven in front of her by Amy M. Walser, 38, Union City, stopped to yield to oncoming traffic.



Deer hit

An Eaton resident drove into a deer on Indiana 18 about 2:05 p.m. Saturday.

James M. Clark, 35, was driving west on the highway when a deer ran into the path of his 2015 Dodge Ram 2500. Damage is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
