Drug possession

Three Jay County residents were arrested recently for possessing drugs.

Brooke A. Bennett, 21, 222 W. Jay St., Dunkirk, was arrested Wednesday for possession of a narcotic drug and maintaining a common nuisance. Bennett was released from Jay County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Billie J. Steed, 54, 914 A. W. Water St., Portland, was arrested Thursday for two Level 6 felony charges for possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug and possession of methamphetamine, and two Class C misdemeanors for possession of paraphernalia and resisting law enforcement. Steed is being held in Jay County Jail.

Donald E. Stipp, 51, 914 W. Water St., Portland, was arrested Thursday for three Level 6 felonies for possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance, along with a Class A misdemeanor for resisting law enforcement and a Class C misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia. He’s being held in Jay County Jail.



Failed to appear

A Dunkirk man was arrested Wednesday for failing to appear in court.

Payton C. Folkerth, 23, 1146 S. Indiana 1, has an original Level 6 felony charge for possession of methamphetamine and a Class A misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana. He’s being held without bond in Jay County Jail.
