Kathleen “Kay” Ellen (Schmit) Price, 63, Pendleton, Indiana, passed away Jan. 3, 2019 at her home.

She was born July 18, 1955 in Jay County to the late Victor O. and Kathleen Marie (Armitage) Schmit.

Kay was a 1973 graduate of Bryant High School and a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Anderson.

She retired as assistant deli manager from Marsh Grocery in Pendleton in 2016 following eight years of service. Previously she worked at Mace’s Grocery in Pendleton for 11 years and Grandma’s Treasures in Pendleton for 15 years.

Survivors include husband, Randy D. Price, whom she married Oct. 7, 1978; daughter Kim (husband: Matt) Gallagher of Anderson; granddaughter, Evelyn Mae Gallagher of Anderson; siblings, Robert “Bob” Schmit of Bryant, Frank (wife: Debbie) Schmit of Dayton, Ohio, Joe (wife: Vickie) Schmit of Florida, Gene (wife: June) Schmit of Bryant, Jerry Schmit of Adrian, Michigan, Esther (husband: Bill) Johnson of Warsaw, Pat (husband: Dennis) Halfman of Carmel, Mike (wife: Barb) Schmit of Illinois, Phil (wife: Cecilia) Schmit of Fort Wayne, Paul Schmit of Angola, and Jan Konchalski of Fort Wayne; brother-in-law Tom Chezem of Pendleton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Victor Schmit and Mary Ann Chezem.

A Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert L. Sell III officiating.
