Kenneth “Kenny” Ira Smith Jr., 67, Eaton, died Friday at his home following a battle with cancer. He was the father of a Portland man.
Born in Titusville, Pa., to Pauline (Gween) and Kenneth Ira Smith Sr., he is survived by his wife Virginia “Ginnie” May (Sornberger) Smith whom he married on Dec. 14, 1981.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Keihin Automotive Manufacturing in Muncie in 2009.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, including Jeff Cosner (wife: Michelle), Portland; two daughters; a brother; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Keplinger Funeral Home in Hartford City with Pastor John M. Tyner officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
