Larry Cavanaugh

Larry G. Cavanaugh, age 83, of Portland passed away Tuesday May 23, 2023, at Albany Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
He was born in Bryant on July 23, 1939, the son of Donald and Joan (Gray) Cavanaugh. He was married on Aug. 27, 1977, to Sharon Bentz who survives.
Larry was retired from Teledyne Portland Forge and also did construction work. He was a Poling High School graduate, a member of Portland Lions Club, 4th of July Committee and Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association, and attended The Rock Church and Asbury United Methodist Church. Larry was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family, and he loved all his dogs.
Surviving are his wife Sharon; two daughters, Andrea “Andie” Miltahler of Portland and Theresa Cavanaugh (Mike Reinhard) of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Cavanaugh; and a daughter, Elizabeth Cavanaugh.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 26, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Smith presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
