Suzanne Louise Lambert, 72, of Clinton, died at 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 4, 2019, at Signature Healthcare in Terre Haute.

She was born Feb. 19, 1947, Alpena, Michigan, to Edward Cornelius Ehinger and Eloise Claire Leonard.

She was a career hairdresser, and after retirement she worked at 9th Street Liquor Store part-time for many years. She loved her liquor customers.

“Suze,” as we liked to call her, loved camping and the outdoors. She was an avid gardener and she had a love for animals that was out of this world! Her sense of humor was one of her best-known traits, as her friends and family knew quite well. Even when her sickness progressed, she never lost her wittiness! She was quite the jokester.

“Suze” loved her four children, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Just as equally, she doted on her cats and dogs. She rarely passed on a good party, or a shot of Jägermeister. So, here’s to “Suze!”

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband James “Red” Lambert.

She is survived by her son, Mark Hisle (Laura); three daughters, Dana Hisle (Kevin Hakman), Sherry Cheesewright (Kelly) and Michele Curlee (Scotty); 10 grandchildren, Hilarie (Danny) Grumbaugh, Krystal (Brandon) Baumgartner, Amy (Jimmy) Curtis, Cameron Jones, Kelsi (Mitch) Lubovich, Kenzi Cheesewright, Keaton Cheesewright, and Kaylie, Kenna, and Kobe Hisle; and nine great-grandchildren, Bentley, Wriglie, Rayna, Braydon, Emma, Ellie, Elvie, Emerie and Karter.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Frist Funeral Home. Services will begin at 4 p.m. with Marta Adubato officiating. Burial will be in Bono Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local animal shelters or dementia associations.
