To the editor:
On Feb. 21, will be the fifth annual benefit In Memory of Mandy.
This fundraising event, organized by family and friends of Mandy Theurer will be held at Jay Community Center in Portland. Soups, sandwiches,  drink and dessert will be served from 5 to 7 p.m., all for a free-will donation.
An auction of donated items will start at 7 p.m. with Loy Auctioneering providing its services. There will also be a bounce house for the little ones to enjoy.
All money raised will be given back to the community by way of scholarships, hygiene bags, the Jay County WALK Against Cancer and other organizations that help people in need.
The success of this event has been overwhelming and we are so grateful for the support of this community over the years.
We look forward to another evening of great food, a lively auction and remembering one gone too soon.
Sincerely,
Roger and Charlene Theurer

Bill defies logic
To the editor:
Travis Holdman’s bill to allow golf carts on state highways is one of the most asinine proposals I have seen for a while.
Holdman’s logic defies explanation.
Still scratching my head over this.
