Clark leads Optimist to win

Ali Clark took advantage of her plate appearances with bases loaded.
Twice she cleared them.
Clark hit two grand slams on Wednesday in leading Optimist to a resounding 18-2 victory against Jay County REMC in their Portland Junior League Rookie softball game.
Clark also scored three times.
Alexa Ridenour and Gabi Miller both singled four times with four runs apiece, and Brinley Steed also hit four singles and scored three runs. Alieah Cox collected three singles and two runs.
Shylynn Blowers doubled for REMC, which only got four hits. Lilah Hudson and Haley Comer both singled with a run, and Danica Chowning singled as well.
Homestead 6, Rock 3
Paisley Day and Kayla Sims (Homestead Bedding) and Chloe Yates (Rock Church) led their respective teams with four hits each during their Rookie softball tilt on Wednesday.
Day also scored three times, Sims reached home twice and Yates had one run.
Ava Peterson chipped in three singles and a run for Homestead, which also got two singles each from Tori Noggler and Saige Winger.
Journi Dalrymple had three singles for Rock. Ellie Wiggins and Bella Barnett both singled twice.
Local 9, Loy’s 9
Local 1620 and Loy’s Realty were unable to determine a winner in their Sandy Koufax matchup as they played to a tie on Tuesday.
Bryce Wenk paced Loy’s with a triple and a double with two RBIs, while Austin Curtis contributed a double, a single and three RBIs.
Isaac Scott chipped in a double and two singles, as Gavin Young and Cole Carpenter each singled with an RBI.
Isaac Miller led Local with a double and a single, and Keegan Cavanaugh hit a double and knocked in a run. Jaylen McClain singled with two RBIs, while Canon Nichols and Zedrian Vasquez both singled.
Fisher 14, Display 8
Ayla Jackson led Fisher Meats with two hits and a pair of RBIs in its Minor softball game Wednesday.
Erin Aker contributed a hit and an RBI, while Rook Shaver and Calie Yates each got a single. Shaver also got the win pitching, striking out a half dozen in four innings.
Opal Garrett had a single and an RBI in the Display Craft loss. Kayleigh Stevenson chipped in a base hit as well.
Therapeutics 12,
Crossroads 2
Jay County Therapeutics scored a dozen runs on just two hits in getting a victory Wednesday in its Minor softball contest.
Brena Brewster tripled and Natalie May hit a double for Therapeutics.
Brooklyn Bright hit a double and Karsyn Schwieterman singled for Crossroads Financial Federal Credit Union.
