Priority had the edge in extra-base hits.

Lions had the edge where it mattered most.

Lions Club picked up a 7-4 victory against Priority Roofing on Thursday in Portland Junior League’s Willie Mays division.

Alex Miller, Skyler Esparza, Tyce Foreman and Irik Donathon all had singles for Lions in the win.

Will Patterson tripled and singled for Priority. Gabe Steiner and Nolan Fields both doubled, while Jax Wanner and Hunter Fields each had a single.



Optimist 18, Homestead 2

Two players had a triple and three singles in leading Optimist to its Rookie softball win on Wednesday.

Alexa Ridenour notched three runs to go with her four-hit day, while Kamzy Johnson reached home twice. Aleah Roush collected four hits and three runs, Alieah Cox had three hits and three runs as Rylee Jordan finished with two hits and a run.

Ava Peterson’s two hits and a run were tops for Homestead Bedding. Paisley Day doubled with a run, and Ava Noles and Tori Noggler both singled in the loss.



Inman 11, PG-14 3

Carson Busick had a double and a single but it wasn’t quite enough as PG-14 fell to Inman U-Loc on Thursday.

Busick also collected two RBIs. Andrew Myers, Alex Huntsman and Hayden Ison each contributed a single.

Samuel Wiggins and Kevin Dues both drew a walk.
