Another no decision

PASCO, Wash. — For the second consecutive game, Nick Thwaits did not receive a decision.

Thwaits, a 2018 Fort Recovery graduate, lasted three innings during the Tri-City Dust Devils’ 4-1 win on Friday against the Vancouver Canadians at Gesa Stadium.

The 15th-round pick in the 2018 draft labored through 74 pitches. He allowed singles in the first inning to Yorman Rodriguez and Jesus Lopes, but didn’t allow a run.

Ronny Brito doubled an inning later, and after a walk and a wild pitch the Canadians had two in scoring position before Thwaits struck out Tanner Morris to end the frame.

Jesus Lopez singled with two outs in the third inning but Thwaits kept the shutout.

Tri-City took a 1-0 lead in the third and Vancouver tied it two innings later.

A three-run sixth gave the Dust Devils the win.

In all, Thwaits gave up four hits without allowing a run. He struck out three and walked one. It was his first scoreless outing of the season.
