Four players had perfect days at the plate in a high-scoring Rookie baseball contest in Portland Junior League action on Thursday.

Matt’s Garage totaled 28 hits in beating Williams Auto Parts (16 hits) by a 21-11 margin.

Benson Armstrong was 4-for-4 with two home runs, four RBIs and two runs in leading Matt’s Garage. Derric Coons contributed a 4-for-4 effort with a home run as well in addition to scoring four times and driving in four runs. Blake Jellison was also 4-for-4, adding four runs and three RBIs. Liam Ridenour tallied two RBIs on his 4-for-4 night.

Tanner Day and Easton Steed were each 3-for-4. Day chipped in three runs, Steed had two runs and both of them totaled two RBIs. Lavaughn Ballard had three hits, one run and an RBI.

Kellen Keys led Williams in the loss with a pair of home runs, seven RBIs and three runs. Bentley Brunswick scored three times and had an RBI on four hits. Javier Casillas added two hits while Dustin and Hayden Franks had one hit each.

Loy’s 6, Dunkirk 4

Bryce Wenk doubled in helping Loy’s Realty to its Sandy Koufax win over Dunkirk on Thursday.

Gavin Young, Isaac Scott and Austin Curtis each singled in the win.

Ben Crouch and Jackson Edwards both hit doubles for Dunkirk, which got a pair of singles from Payton Lykins and Hayden Hardman.

Inman 11, PG-14 7

Samuel Wiggins recorded two singles and a pair of runs for PG-14 in its 11-7 loss in Willie Mays action.

Grant Fennig and Mavrick Reier both doubled, with Fennig recording two RBIs. Andrew Myers, Kevin Dues and Hayden Ison each had a single for PG-14.
