Co-ed softball registration under way (08/01/03)

The registration period is now open for the Jay Community Center fall co-ed softball league.

Teams will play double-headers on Sundays beginning Aug. 17, with a league tournament scheduled for Saturday and Sunday Oct. 11-12. Rosters are limited to a 16 players, and the cost of the league is $200 per team.

The deadline to register is Thursday. Registration forms and full league rules are available at the community center.

Pool passes discounted

Season Passes for the Portland Pool are now half price and the discounted price will last through the rest of the swim season.

Season passes are now $25 for a single pass, $42.50 for a family pass for two to three members and $50 for a family of four or more.

Hours will be 12:30 until 5 p.m. during the week of the Jay County Fair. For all other regular weeks, hours will remain 12:30 to 8 p.m.

Bowling meeting

The Portland Women’s Bowling Association will hold its fall meeting next week.

The meeting will be Tuesday, August 5 at the Brown Bowl.

Portland Junior League will hold its post-season banquet Monday, Aug. 11.
