Fort Recovery Schools are looking for several coaches.
The Indians need both high school and junior high track coaches for the 2005 season. Those interested should contact FRHS athletics director Barb Sautbine at (419) 375-4111 or [email protected].
Coaching clinic
Jay County High School will host a coaching clinic for IHSAA certification in December.
The clinic, which will be Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is open to the public. Those who complete the course will be eligible for IHSAA certification to become a high school coach.
The course will cover liability and safety, sport nutrition, competition, sportsmanship and violence, and IHSAA guidelines. The cost is $25.
Those interested in attending should register by calling the JCHS athletics office at (260) 726-9806. The deadline to register for the clinic is Thursday, Dec. 2.
Ceremony scheduled
South Adams high school will hold a special ceremony to recognize basketball players, cheerleaders and managers from the four former schools which now make up the South Adams district.
It will be held between the junior varsity and varsity boys basketball games between the Starfires and the Bellmont Braves Saturday, Nov. 27. The school will dedicate signs to be hung in the Star Dome representing the Berne Bears, Geneva Cardinals, Jefferson Warriors and Hartford Gorillas.
Anyone who was involved in the basketball programs at those will be admitted to the game for free.

AAU tryouts
Tryouts for the Jay County fifth grade AAU boys basketball team will be Sunday, Nov. 21 at the Jay Community Center.
The tryouts will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Players should come dressed to practice.
