It's time to help out
Opinion
November has slipped away. October is a memory. And September evaporated so quickly that we've lost track of it.
Time has a way of getting away from us, chugging along faster than we're prepared to handle.
And some things can get lost in the shuffle.
Things like that United Way pledge form you've forgotten about.
It's around the house somewhere, or lost on your desk, or in your cubicle, or stuck on the refrigerator with a magnet.
But while the United Way campaign can sometimes be obscured by the cloud of dust that comes with the rush of daily events, the work of United Way member organizations cannot.
For those organizations, the work goes on.
People are helped. Lives are changed. Folks in tough situations get a little support when they need it. And out of it all, a sense of community is built.
That's what the United Way is all about: Community.
And the best way that you, as an individual, can reinforce that sense of community and give it strength is to remember the annual United Way campaign that may have gotten lost in the shuffle.
Find that pledge form. If you don't have one, pick up the phone and ask for one. It's the best way we know of to "buy in" to the community around us.
And it's a great way to make the quickly passing months and days have a little more meaning than they might otherwise have had. — J.R[[In-content Ad]]
