May permits top $632,000

Building permits were issued for more than $632,000 in new construction in May in Jay County. The largest project was a new home being built by Michael Willmann on county road 850 East.
The other big project is another new home being built by Bryan and Michelle Cline at 2593 E. 500 North, Portland.
Other permits were issued to Norman McCowan, 1497 W. 150 South, Portland, for a $16,000 pole barn; Charles Brown, 4426 N. Grisell Road, Pennville, for a $500 deck roof; Michael Arnold, 915 E. Votaw St., Portland, for a $100 fence; Ben Girod, 3151 E. 400 North, Portland, for a $60,000 new home and buggy shed; Jeff Guntle, 4124 N. 150 East, Portland, for a $15,000 new home; Leroy J.L. Schwartz, 2523 W. 400 North, Portland, for a $16,000 residential addition; Penn Kerschner, 275 E. Max Drive, Pennville, for a $15,000 attached garage; Brian Paro, 4190 S. Younkin Dr., Redkey, for a $30,000 residential addition.
