Our pick: Hosier

Opinion

The choice is clear.

Bruce Hosier should be the next mayor of the city of Portland.

As a candidate, Hosier brings plenty of strengths to the table. He’s articulate. He’s enthusiastic. And he’s ready to roll up his sleeves and go to work.

We believe he’s also identified the critical issue before the voters in next month’s election. The issue is leadership.

Portland is hungry for leadership when it comes to its downtown business district. It’s hungry for leadership when it comes to commercial and economic development. And it’s hungry for leadership when it comes to giving the city the caliber of police department that it deserves.

On all those points, Hosier is the stronger candidate.

After too many years of drift and inertia, this community is eager to make some changes. It’s eager to get back on track and get moving again.

We believe electing Bruce Hosier as mayor would be a good first step in the right direction. — J.R.[[In-content Ad]]
