SA falls in ACAC tournament opener (10/07/04)

BERNE — There wasn’t much the South Adams volleyball team could do.

The Starfires lined up against the No. 3 team in the state in Class 2A in the first round of the Allen County Athletic Conference tournament Wednesday. They kept the score close in both games, but still fell to the Adams Central Jets 25-20, 25-21.

Renee Neuenschwander had seven kills and four blocks in the defeat, both team highs. She added five digs and two aces.

Alyssa Miller put up 11 assists. She also had three blocks and a pair of aces.

Robyn Habegger finished with 10 digs, Brooke Fox had three blocks and Kara Ross notched two kills.

South Adams will play its final regular-season match Thursday, Oct. 14 at Huntington North at 6:15 p.m.

Fort Recovery tickets

Tickets to Fort Recovery’s homecoming football game Friday against Marion Local are on sale.

They will be sold in the high school office today until 4 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. They will also be sold in the middle school office Friday from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Advance tickets are $4 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the gate will be $5.

Hunting safety

An Indiana Hunter Safety Class will be held next week.

The class will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. It will be held at the Portland Elks, 126 W. High St., Portland.
