St. Henry shuts down Indians (10/29/04)

FORT RECOVERY — St. Henry brought the defense Thursday.

Fort Recovery’s junior high football teams closed out their seasons, but could not managed to get into the end zone against the rival Redskins. The seventh grade team finished at 3-4 with an 18-0 loss to St. Henry, while the eighth grade team finished with a 24-0 loss to end the year at 0-7.

Community center

The Jay Community Center still has openings for its badminton league which begins play Monday, Nov. 8.

EJ wresting

Practice for the East Jay wrestling team will begin after school on Monday. Students must have a physical form on file with the school office before they may begin practice.

Football combine

Hoosier Gridiron will hold a football combine in December at Anderson University for high school players interested in continuing their careers at the collegiate level.

Athletes will be evaluated for strength, speed and agility, and there will be special “positional demonstration sessions.” There will also be a speaker who will discus the NCAA Clearinghouse, financial aid, NCAA recruiting rules and college admissions.
