Starfire spikers drop ninth straight at Parkway (09/14/04)

ROCKFORD, Ohio — The losing streak for the South Adams volleyball team is one away from double digits. The Starfires lost for the ninth straight time Monday, dropping a 25-22, 25-4, 25-19 decision to the Parkway Panthers.

Robyn Habegger had team highs of four kills and seven digs in the defeat. She also notched one ace.

Tamara Moser had two kills and one block, and Kara Ross also had two kills. Alyssa Miller finished with nine assists.

South Adams also lost in junior varsity action, 25-12, 25-13.

The Starfires (1-10) will play in the second match of five straight on the road when they visit Southern Wells today at 6 p.m.

FR freshmen win

FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery freshman football team rallied in the second half for a 20-13 victory over the Versailles Tigers.

The Indians trailed 13-8 at halftime, with the lone first-half touchdown coming on an 8-yard pass from Bobby Rammel to Michael Trobridge. John Vagedes ran in the two-point conversion.

But, the Tribe did all of the scoring in the second half.

Trobridge ran for a 35-yard touchdown in the third quarter to put Fort Recovery up 14-13. John Westgerdes sealed the win in the fourth quarter, grabbing an interception and returning it for a 70-yard score.

Fort tickets

Tickets for Fort Recovery’s football game Friday at home against Versailles will go on sale Thursday.

They will be available in the high school office Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. They will also be sold in the middle school office Friday from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Advance tickets are $4 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the gate will be $5.[[In-content Ad]]
