Tigers hand Fort 2nd MAC loss (09/12/03)

The Fort Recovery volleyball team suffered another tight Midwest Athletic Conference loss Thursday, falling to the Versailles Tigers 11-15, 15-13, 15-13.
Krystal Rammel had another huge match for the Tribe (5-3, 1-2 MAC), finishing with 12 kills. Megan Wenning stepped in with a great serving performance, scoring 17 points.
Olivia Post and Jenn Stahl each had seven kills, with Post adding 13 assists and Stahl chipping in four blocks. Joscie Kaup had six kills, 19 assists and 10 digs.
Julie Grube had eight points, five kills and eight digs, and Briget Metzger put down seven blocks.
The junior varsity Indians improved to 5-0 with a 15-6, 15-11 victory over Versailles.
Kristen Schwieterman, Jennalee Post and Vicki Roessner each had six points in the win. Schwieterman added seven digs, and Post had six assists.
Roessner finished with five kills, and Kelly Link had four.
Fort Recovery will play at Ansonia Monday at 5:30 p.m.
The Tribe’s freshman volleyball team also stayed unbeaten at 6-0 with a 16-14, 15-8 win over the Celina Bulldogs.
Holly Stein scored eight points to lead the team. She also added 42 sets.
Lauren Wenning led a balanced offense with three kills, and five other players added two kills apiece. Wenning came away with three blocks, and Shelby Knapke had three digs.
Abby Niekamp put up 32 sets, and Jodi Tobe scored seven points.

The Fort Recovery eighth grade football team took an 18-8 loss to the Versailles Tigers Thursday.
The seventh grade team also suffered a loss to the Tigers, 12-6.
Bobby Rammel hit Eric Lamm with a 30-yard touchdown pass for the lone eighth-grade score.
Ross Overman ran in the 2-point conversion.
