Arrested

A rural Hartford City man was arrested Sunday morning by Dunkirk police for felony and misdemeanor offenses.

Bruce W. Yadon, 54, 7393 East 100 North, was arrested for residential entry, a class D felony, battery and criminal mischief, both class A misdemeanors.

He allegedly kicked in the door of a Dunkirk woman’s apartment and slapped the woman. He then left the apartment and was later arrested in Pennville, according to information from Dunkirk Police Chief Arnold Clevenger.

As of this morning, Yadon was being held in the Jay County Jail on $4,500 bond.

A Dunkirk teenager was arrested Friday by Dunkirk police for two counts of battery.

Adam C. Mock, 18, 128 E. Seventh St., was arrested for two counts of battery, a class C felony and a class A misdemeanor.

He is accused of fighting with Dunkirk male on Friday and threatening him with a knife.

Mock was released Saturday from the Jay County Jail on $27,000 bond.

Sentenced

A Portland man was sentenced on Thursday in Jay Superior Court for driving while intoxicated, a class D felony.

Frank H. Perkins II, 41, was sentenced to 18 months in the Jay County Jail with all but six months suspended and credit for time served.

He was fined $50 and was ordered to pay $134.50 in court costs, a $200 alcohol and drug counseling fee and a $400 substance abuse program fee. He was placed on probation for one year, and his driver’s license was suspended for one year.

Perkins was arrested in September after he was pulled over by Portland police.

The DWI charge was enhanced to a felony because he had a previous DWI conviction within the last five years.

Weather

There will be occasional rain tonight, and lows will be in the mid 40s. On Wednesday, there is a 70 percent chance of rain with highs in the lower 50s. Wednesday night will turn colder and mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of snow showers. Lows will be in the upper 20s.

The Portland weather observation station reported a high Monday of 44, a low of 31 and the temperature at 7 a.m. today was 44.

Thursday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday will be partly cloudy with highs in the lower 30s.
