CLARIFICATION
The Linda K. Aker listed in a Jay Circuit Court judgment in Saturday’s edition of The Commercial Review is not Mrs. Michael Aker, who works for the Jay School Corporation.
THEFT
Portland police received a report Monday of a CD player stolen from a Portland man’s vehicle.
Ron Welch, 1012 W. Walnut St., told police his vehicle was parked behind his residence between 10:30 p.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday when the theft occurred.
The vehicle was not locked when the Pioneer CD player was stolen from his vehicle.
MISSING PLOW
A Wabash Township man reported the theft of a plow to Jay County police on Monday.
Calvin Fennig, 6830 North State Line Road, told police that the 1939 John Deere plow was taken from a junk pile. Fennig told police that he had last seen the plow in the summer of 2002.
COUNTY ACCIDENT
Vehicles driven by a Pennville teenager and a Portland teenager collided Monday at 3:40 p.m. in Greene Township.
Joshua L. Shumaker, 16, 240 E. Main St., Pennville, told Jay County police he was facing east on a private drive, at the intersection of county road 200 West, when his vehicle was struck from behind. Kathryn R. Addington, 16, 316 E. North St., Portland, told police she was behind Shumaker’s vehicle and thought he was going to pull onto the road but that he did not.
Shumaker was driving a 1989 Dodge car and Addington was in a 1994 Saturn. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at less than $750.
CEMETERY COMMISSION
The Jay County Cemetery Commission will meet Monday, Oct. 20, at 4:30 p.m. in the Jay County Genealogy Office, 109 S. Commerce St., Portland. The meeting is open to the public.[[In-content Ad]]
