Upp, Beyke hit holes in one

Two golfers recently made holes-in-one at Portland Golf Club.
Elizabeth Upp aced the 110-yard, par-3 second hole on Tuesday.
And on Saturday, Jerry Beyke used an 8-iron from 130 yards out on the 13th hole during the Coldwater Eagles outing.
Linda Selvey, Whitney Gray and Susie Meinerding witnessed Upp’s ace, with Ray Beyke, Mark Beyke and Eric Barga looking on as Jerry Beyke made his.
It was the first career ace for both golfers.
Three finish in top 10
MONTPELIER — Three Portland residents led a group of local drivers competing at Montpelier Motor Speedway on Saturday.
Richard Williams, Travis Nichols and Todd Weaver all finished in the top 10 in their respective races. Williams placed sixth in the Super Streets race, with Nichols and Weaver crossing the finish line in seventh and ninth respectively in the Thunder Cars race.
Mason Stewart of Portland was 12th in the UMP Modifieds, and Jeff Baldauf of Dunkirk was 16th in Thunder Cars.
