Tribe beats Cards, 'Skins

MINSTER, Ohio — The Fort Recovery High School boys golf team picked up a pair of wins Saturday at Arrowhead Golf Club.
The Tribe totaled 177, tying the New Bremen Cardinals, but earned the win on a fifth-golfer tiebreaker. St. Henry was third with 193.
Micaiah Cox turned in a round of 49, beating New Bremen’s Derek Bergman to give the Indians the edge in the tiebreaker.
Derek Backs led Fort Recovery with a 40, tying the season-best score he set Aug. 15 and then matched again on Aug. 28. Jackson Hobbs fired a 44, also tying his best score of the season.
Chase Bruns was the Indians’ No. 3 golfer with a 45, and Nick Litmer posted a 48 to complete the team score for FRHS.
FRMS tops Tigers
ANSONIA, Ohio — Fort Recovery Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams beat the host Ansonia Tigers on Saturday.
The Tribe seventh graders won 25-6, 25-11, and the eighth graders earned a victory in straight sets, 25-7, 25-13.
Rachel Thien and Bailee Tebbe led the seventh grade Indians with six aces each, and Chloe Showalter had four kills and four aces. Paige Jutte tallied three kills.
For the eighth graders, Hanna Knapke and Faith Kahlig had 10 service points each, with Knapke totaling six ace and eight kills. Cassidy Martin had three kills and three points, and Madison Rammel recorded five assists.
