Thank you for supporting cause
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
Thank you for printing the photo of the “Blessings donation” recently presented for the Jay County Walk Against Cancer in memory of Mandy Theurer.
While the caption said it was from Mandy’s family, it was due to the generosity of our community that this donation was able to be made. A benefit was held Feb. 16 at Jay Community Center, and what a night it was.
The outpouring of support was incredible, and there are so many to thank.
Thank you to Kay Alexander and family for the delicious meal, the staff of Loy Auctioneering for their handling of the auction, the JCC staff and Tony Lennartz for the use of tables, chairsand the ever-popular bounce house.
Thank youTracy Leonhard for the delicious birthday cake, members of Delta Theta Tau sorority for your helping hands and Kyle Teeter for the beautiful T-shirt design.
And finally, thank you to every single person or business that contributed in any way: the sweet woman from Fort Recovery who donated a hand-made bear, the gentleman who walked in and handed over a $50 bill without saying a word and to those who had a kind word, a hug and maybe a tear in remembrance of Mandy.
Due to the success of thebenefit we will be able to again award college scholarships and provide hygiene bags to middle school students.
Withhope of doing it all again next year, we thank you.
