Leonhard’s five goals lead Wasps
Mabel Leonhard’s five goals surpassed Kenna Penrod for the highest in the Pennville Soccer Club Stinger division and led the A Place to Grow Wasps to a 6-0 win over the AgBest Express Bees, but couldn’t overcome the Patriot Sportswear Hornets for a 3-1 loss.

Helpers to heroes

Summer swim team opens with big win
UNION CITY — The Jay swimmers started their season off with a bang. The Jay County Summer Swim team started the 2024 season off strong as the girls dominated to push Jay County to a win at the Wabash Valley Conference Relays on Saturday held at Union City High School.
Cinderella run comes to an end
A two-out double by Grady Monigold in the sixth inning pushed the No. 1 Hiland Hawks to a 3-2 victory over the Fort Recovery High School baseball team in the OHSAA Division IV state championship game on Sunday at Canal Park.
