Town moves to limit leaks

Redkey has been installing new “smart” water meters across town. The technology has the ability to record water usage in 15-minute increments for residential properties, and it automatically notifies town employees when a meter records abnormal readings.

Road work

County road 275 South between U.S. 27 and county road 100 West was closed briefly around noon Wednesday to allow Jay County Highway Department crews to work on road repairs. The highway department was also working on county roads 100 West, 200 North, 700 West and 350 South.

Join for overdose awareness memorial

Jay County Drug Prevention will host an overdose awareness memorial, Brighter Than the Silence, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Hudson Family Park in Portland.
