Concert, car show scheduled
Taking Note
Classic rock and vintage cars will be the entertainment Aug. 9 in Berne.
Browse through the vintage cars in the west parking lot at First Mennonite Church beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Smoothies and Jones Sodas will be available for purchase from Shaka Shack of Monroe.
Terry Lee and the Rockaboogie Band will perform hits from the ’50s and ’60s, such as “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shkin’” at Muensterberg Plaza at 7:30 p.m.
The band features the lightning fast piano pumpin’ playing of London, England’s Terry Lee Ridley.
In case of inclement weather, the band’s performance will be moved to the South Adams High School auditorium.
Attends convention
Stacy Faller and Erica Wehrkamp, both of Fort Recovery, attended the Psi Iota Xi National Convention in Fort Wayne in June.
Also Cathy Etzler, a founding member of the Fort Recovery chapter of Theta Zeta, was installed as national president of Psi Iota Xi.
The local chapter of Theta Zeta raises funds through sponsoring a community garage sale weekend, selling Gordon bulk food and catering the One-of-a-Kind Historical Auction.
Its newest project is assisting with new park equipment at the Community Park and the new Athletic Booster Building at Fort Recovery High School.

Summer festival
A Summer’s End Street Festival is planned for Aug. 16 in Geneva.
The event will feature a beer garden and food stands, both opening at 5 p.m. and a kid’s zone from 5 to 8 p.m.
Music will be performed by The Junk Yard Band from 7 to 10 p.m.
