The Portland Rockets slipped to 1-1 in World Baseball Congress Tournament play Saturday afternoon with a 3-2, nine-inning loss to the Fort Wayne Jackers.
Portland scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning — Dalton Tinsley tied the game with an RBI single to right field — at Portland Memorial Park’s Runkle-Miller Field to pull even.
But a couple of errors helped Fort Wayne score in the top of the ninth inning, and the Rockets were unable to muster another rally.
Portland will play again about 8 p.m. tonight against the Summit City Sluggers.
