Rims damaged
A Portland woman reported damage to her car Friday morning in Bearcreek Township.
Nancy Brown, 58, 6446 W. 400 South, was driving her 2012 Chevrolet Cruze north on U.S. 27, near county road 400 North, when she struck a hole caused by Indiana Department of Transportation construction. Brown told officers the hole wasn’t marked, and the impact caused damage to three of her vehicle’s rims.
Brown reported the estimated $1,000 to $2,500 in damage to officers at 5:40 a.m.

Right angle collision
A Portland man and a Texas woman were involved in a collision Friday morning in Portland.
Dale Moore, 72, 600 S. Meridian St., Apt. 107, told officers he was driving west on Ind. 67 in his 1992 Honda Accord, when he turned into the driveway of the strip mall in the 1000 block of W. Votaw Street and collided with a vehicle traveling east. Moore told officers he didn’t see the vehicle before impact.
Heather Weiland, 22, 4101 E. Rancier Ave., Apt. 1406, Killeen, Texas, told officers she was traveling east on Votaw Street in a 2009 Ford Fusion, registered to Eric Weiland, same address, when another vehicle turned in front of her and her vehicle collided with its side.
Damage in the 9:14 a.m. accident was estimated to be between $5,000 and $10,000.
