The championship game of the World Baseball Congress Tournament is set for Sunday in Portland. But for the first time since 2009, the Rockets won’t be playing in it.
Host Portland lost a pair of 3-2 extra-inning games Saturday — to the Fort Wayne Jackers in nine innings and the Summit City Sluggers in eight — to finish 1-2 in the WBC. The Jackers and Sluggers will meet in the championship game at noon Sunday at Portland Memorial Park’s Runkle-Miller Field.
For full details from the tournament, pick up Monday’s edition of The Commercial Review.
