Skating party planned
Taking note
A Girl Scout registration and skating party will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade at StarLite Skating Center, 143 N. Cash St. in Winchester.
The cost is $25 and includes skate rental, two hours of skating, a patch and a one-year Girl Scout membership. Those already registered will pay $10 and guests will pay $8.

Scholarships
Two Portland residents were the recipients of a $2,000 Brothers Scholarship from The Heritage Group Scholarship Fund. Students may apply for the scholarship if a parent is employed by The Heritage Group and scholarships are renewable for three years.
Receiving a scholarship was Ericka Reynolds, Portland, the daughter of Eric Reynolds who works at US Aggregates in Portland. She plans to attend Indiana University in Bloomington.
Also receiving a scholarship was Shawna Miller, Portland, the daughter of John Miller, who is a US Aggregates employee in Ridgeville. She plans to attend Huntington University.
