Intersection collision
A Portland man and Williamsburg woman were involved in an accident Friday afternoon in Portland.
Richard Wallischeck, 49, 432 E. High Street, told police he was traveling east on Arch Street when he stopped at Meridian Street. He pulled into the intersection to turn right onto Meridian Street, and his 1990 Ford Bronco was struck by a 2004 Buick Century, driven by Jill Miller, 50, 6366 North Round Barn Road, Williamsburg.
Wallischeck said another driver who was traveling west on Arch Street waved to alert him he could proceed into the intersection, and he didn’t see the Buick Century.
The Buick is registered to Calvin and Alberta Beitler, 786 S. Harrison Street, Berne.
Damage in the 4:14 p.m. accident was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.

Gas stolen
A Village Pantry employee reported a drive-off to police Saturday.
The employee told police a woman pumped gas at the 704 N. Meridian St., gas station and drove off without paying.
The theft was reported at 7:28 p.m.
