Tyson Foods Inc. has extended the time limit for its offer to purchase shares of the common stock of Hillshire Brands for $63 a share.
The offer, which was originally made on July 16, has been extended to Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Bank donates
MainSource Financial Group, based in Greensburg, recently donated $14,750 to the National Future Farmers of America Foundation to support its ‘Food for All’ program.

The project is a joint venture between POET, parent of POET Biorefining Portland, and DSM, which is based in The Netherlands.
The plant will process 770 tons of corn cobs, leaves, husk, and some stalk annually to produce 20 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol per year, later increasing production to 25 million gallons a year.
