Felony arrests
Possession of a narcotic
A Dunkirk man was arrested Wednesday night and preliminarily charged with possession of narcotics, a Level 6 felony.
Justin Daniel Watson, 28, 277 E. Commerce St., faces the charge following a traffic stop.
On Wednesday evening, a Jay County Sheriff’s Office reserve stopped the vehicle Watson was driving at U.S. 27 and county road 400 South. During the stop, a deputy searched the vehicle and allegedly found 12 capsules believed to be heroin in the driver’s side door.
Watson was arrested and booked at 10:06 p.m. into Jay County Jail under a $3,000 bond. He later bonded out.
Dealing in methamphetamine
A Pennville woman was arrested Sunday morning and preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony.
Shauna Rae Yantis, 31, 5807 N. 650 West, Pennville, faces the charges following a search of her home Sunday morning.
Jay County Sheriff’s Office received a report at about 4 a.m. of an alarm going off inside Yantis’ residence. When deputies arrived, they heard the alarm and couldn’t make contact with anyone inside the home. They also allegedly found vessels used for cooking methamphetamine.
Deputies saw a person inside the house, which allegedly looked like it may have been burglarized, and forced their way inside.
Once inside, deputies found Yantis and saw other items related to the manufacture of methamphetamine. The drug task force obtained a search warrant from Jay Circuit Court and searched the home.
Yantis was arrested and booked at 5:36 a.m. into Jay County Jail, where she remains under no bond.
Intimidation
A Portland man was arrested Friday evening on a Jay Superior Court bench warrant.
Jacob Allen Wall, 23, 936 W. Main St., is charged with intimidation, a Level 6 felony.
He was booked at 11 p.m. into Jay County Jail under a $6,000 bond.
