Limberlost receives award

The Robert Cooper Audubon Society in Muncie recently honored winners of its 2014 conservation awards, which recognize individuals and organizations in East Central Indiana who have served the natural environment in notable ways.
The Phyllis Yuhas Wildlife Habitat Preservation Award was given to the Limberlost Conservation Association. One of its major projects included giving $50,000 to the Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva to build the visitor center.

Union City fun
Christmas in the City  will be held Friday at the Arts Depot in Union City.
A cookie walk and pictures with Santa will begin at 5 p.m., and the opening of the gift gallery and a social will be at 5:30 p.m.
Artists, music and treats will be at Union City businesses from 7 to 9 p.m. There  will be bus tours through Harter Park to see the lights and carriage rides available.
The Arts Depot is  located at 115 N. Howard St.

Open house
Garst Museum, 205 N. Broadway in Greenville, Ohio, will have a  holiday open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
There will be music, refreshments and several decorated Christmas trees.
