Tribe freshmen win

MARIA STEIN, Ohio — Ryan Braun and Ethan Schoen both reached double figures in the Fort Recovery freshman boys basketball team’s win Monday against Marion Local, 48-42.
Braun tallied a team-high 12 points and Schoen tallied 11 points, five of which were from the free throw line.
Evan Post had eight points and Eddie Siefring chipped in with six points. Clint Metzger added five points.

Freshmen Stars fall
BERNE — South Adams’ freshman boys basketball team found itself behind 29-4 in the second quarter Monday.
Its rally in the second half fell short.
South Adams outscored the New Haven Bulldogs 12-11 in the final 14 minutes, but couldn’t overcome the first-half deficit in a 40-25 loss.
Joe Stuber had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Starfires.

FRMS girls win
FORT RECOVERY — Fort Recovery’s seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams both picked up wins Monday against visiting Union City West Side.
The Tribe eighth graders won 32-15, and the seventh graders beat West Side 27-33.
Brooke Gaerke had a dozen points in the win for the eighth grade Indians, and Hannah Knapke added eight.
For the Fort Recovery seventh graders, Brooke Kahlig led the way with eight points and Olivia Patch and Chloe Showalter each scored six points.
