Kahlig starts first game for Findlay
Collegiate Check-up
Five games into his collegiate career, Elijah Kahlig cracked the starting lineup.
The 2014 Fort Recovery High School graduate started his first game for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team on Dec. 11 against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Michigan Tech.
Kahlig, who is third on Fort Recovery’s career scoring list, scored nine points in the Oilers’ 70-59 loss to the Huskies.
He has since started two more games at guard for the Oilers, scoring three points Saturday in an 81-74 loss to Northern Michigan and eight points Tuesday in a victory against Wheeling Jesuit, 76-22.
The freshman has played each of the Oilers’ (3-4, 1-3 GLIAC) seven games, and is averaging 6.7 points and two rebounds. He has missed just two of his 10 free-throw attempts.

Was one of three University of St. Francis men’s basketball players to score in double figures Saturday as the NAIA Division II No. 10 Cougars fell 69-65 to third-ranked Northwood.
Comer tallied 10 points for St. Francis (11-3) as it fell in the championship game of the Northwood University English Family Classic in West Palm Beach, Florida. He also had three rebounds and a steal.
The sophomore totaled 17 points, five rebounds and three assists Friday in the Cougars’ 96-93, opening-round win over Florida National.

Led the Bethel College women’s basketball team in assists and steals to a 69-67 victory Tuesday over IU Northwest.
Hunt dished out four assists and came up with four steals as the Pilots improved to 6-5. She also grabbed two rebounds and scored two points.
Wade Gelhaus
Fort Recovery – 2013
Helped the Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team to a 72-63 victory Tuesday over Lake Erie.
Gelhaus hit two of his four field-goal attempts and finished with five points, three rebounds and an assists for the Cardinals (6-2, 4-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).
He had three blocks, two points, one steal and one rebound Sunday in a 70-58 win over Ashland.
