Tribe routs Green Wave

FORT RECOVERY — Fort Recovery High School’s girls basketball team notched its biggest win of the season Saturday in a 73-14 rout of the Greenville Green Wave.
Fort Recovery (4-2) scored 22 points off 15 turnovers by Greenville in the opening frame, as the Indians tallied the first 26 points of the contest.
The Tribe continued to pour on the points in the second quarter — it was 20-of-36 from the field in the opening half — to take a 46-4 advantage at the intermission.
Four Indians reached double figures, with Whitney Will, Jocelyn Kaiser and Kara Jutte all sharing the game-high with 12 points. Cassidy Rammel followed with 10 points, and Kendra Siefring notched eight. All 11 Indians who saw the court scored points.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team also won, 31-15.
Kiah Wendel had a game-high 12 points, and Sydney Dues added 10.
Three Stars perfect
INDIANAPOLIS — Three South Adams wrestlers went a perfect 5-0 Saturday at the Ben Davis Giant Duals.
The Starfires went 2-2-1 as a team, picking up wins against Mt. Vernon (66-18) and South Putnam (44-35). South Adams dropped matches against Lafayette (41-36) and Ben Davis (57-19), and tied Fountain Central 40-40.
Wyatt Miller, Briar Goodwin and Sawyer Miller were undefeated on the day. Sawyer Miller competed in the 120- and 126-pound weight division. Goodwin wrestled at 113, and Wyatt Miller was at 106.
Isaiah Baumgartner (195) finished the tournament with a 4-1 record, and Josh Lahr (132) was 3-2. Dylan Zurcher (145) and Gabe Schwartz (182) both finished 2-3.
