Abuse awareness program set (04/06/07)
Taking Note
A sexual abuse awareness and prevention program "Parents Beware, What the Sexual Predator Does Not Want You To Know," will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Lancaster Elementary School, 275 E. Jackson St., in Bluffton.
The program will feature nationally acclaimed speaker Sgt. Terry Hall, from the Indianapolis Police Dept.
The school is located three miles north of Bluffton off of Ind. 1. Daycare will be provided.
Honor roll
A name was omitted from the honor roll list from West Jay Middle School for the third nine week grading period.
Also making the A-B honor roll in sixth grade was Courtney Knight.
Zoomobile
The Muncie Children's Museum will receive a visit from the Indianapolis Zoomobile on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Visitors will see birds, reptiles, frogs, toads and other animals from Australia.
The museum is located at 515 S. High St. in downtown Muncie.
Fort showcase
The Fort Recovery Academic Booster Club will sponsor The Fort Showcase on Thursday, April 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fort Recovery High School.
The showcase will provide an opportunity for students to show their most outstanding projects from the art, academic, technology and trade areas. There will also be short demonstrations and display booths.
Expo to be held
The Winchester Area Chamber of Commerce will have a home and business expo on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Randolph County 4-H Fairground.
The event is sponsored by Grimm Pontiac-Buick GMC and admission is free.
Water classes
The American Red Cross will offer classes to become a trained water safety instructor beginning April 18.
Water safety instructors are able to teach various swimming skills to others. Participants should be good swimmers and be 16 years old by the end of the course.

To become a lifeguard, participants must be a good swimmer and be 15 years old by the end of the course.

The following students made the dean's list at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute for the winter quarter:
Tony Homan, Fort Recovery, the son of Rick and Cathy Homan. He is a senior majoring in computer engineering.
Adam Ford, Portland, the son of Terri and F. Dwane Ford. He is a senior majoring in mechanical engineering.
Mitchell and Ian Thomas, both of Pennville, the sons of Jo and Randy Thomas. They are sophomores majoring in computer engineering.[[In-content Ad]]
