Annual concert set for JCHS
Taking Note
The fifth annual Music Lasts A Lifetime concert will be presented on March 15 at 7 p.m. in the Jay County High School gymnasium. The concert is performed each year by Jay County fourth and fifth grade students in celebration of Music In Our Schools Month.
There will be singing, dancing and instrumental music.
Grief sessions
State of the Heart Hospice and Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, both of Portland, are partnering to offer a series of Growing Through Grief sessions.
The first session will be Wednesday, March 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the State of the Heart office, 1237 W. Ind. 67. Sessions will continue each Wednesday through May 2.
The sessions are open to anyone experiencing grief and loss issues. For more information or to register, call Rob Penrod at Williamson and Spencer at (260) 726-7111 or Marlene Black at State of the Heart at (260) 726-3220.
Recital
Lee Haggenjos, a guitar performance and pre-professional studies major at Notre Dame University, performed his senior classical guitar recital. He is the son of Mark and Donna Haggenjos, Portland.

Daniel Lillard of Indianapolis, a former Pennville resident, has been writing a blog on Pennville town history for three years. It is featured on the website “little Indiana.”
